Cystemme - Urinary tract infection medicine

Q: What are the symptoms of cystitis? (symptoms of bladder infection)

A: A urinary tract infection (UTI) is a bacterial infection that affects any part of the urinary tract. Urine contains a variety of fluids, salts, and waste products, but it usually does not contain bacteria, which can get into the bladder or kidney and multiply in the urine. The most common type of UTI is a bladder infection which is also often called cystitis. This common urinary tract infection (UTI) is characterised by an urgent and frequent need to pass urine, pain or burning on passing urine, darker, cloudy urine and pain felt just above the pubic bone.

Q: What causes cystitis?

A: Cystitis occurs primarily when bacteria enter the urethra, which carries urine from the bladder. Bacteria can be passed from the anus and genitals to the urethra when wiping from back to front after going to the toilet, when inserting a tampon, or during sex. Delaying going to the toilet, or not completely emptying the bladder can also cause a build-up of bacteria, as can bruising, perfumed soaps, non-cotton underwear and tight jeans. Other triggers include being menopausal, using a diaphragm or spermicidal cream as well as dehydration during summer months. Cystitis can also be caused by oral contraceptives. In this case review alternative methods of birth control with your doctor.

Allergies can also be a hidden factor in urinary tract infections. If you suffer from Cystitis, it’s advisable to keep track of your diet and have allergy testing done to help eliminate foods that may be a problem.

Q: Can Cystemme be used in conjunction with antibiotics?

A: Yes, Cystemme is safe to use with the antibiotics commonly prescribed for acute bacterial cystitis. Cystemme will not interfere with the action of the antibiotics, and will assist in providing more rapid relief from the symptoms of cystitis than antibiotics taken alone.

If you have Cystitis, it is advisable to drink more water, go to the toilet more often, and avoid sugars and alcohols as they can actually feed the bacteria causing the infection, and worsen pain. It is also recommended to drink unsweetened cranberry juice, or take cranberry supplements, as well as take Vitamin C with the last meal of the day.

Q: Can I take Cystemme continuously to prevent further bacterial infections?

A: If you suffer from repeated cystitis infections and wish to take Cystemme as a preventative measure, please consult a doctor or other registered healthcare practitioner to ensure that there is no other underlying cause for your repeated infections. Thereafter, a low dose of one to two capsules taken daily may be used.

Q: Can I exercise if I have cystitis?

A: Most people with cystitis are in discomfort or pain, or tired from nights of disrupted sleep and may find it difficult to exercise. Many cystitis sufferers do make the effort to engage in some form of exercise and report coping better with a condition that can cause a lot of pain and anxiety. As their mood is improved they can cope better with the symptoms. A cystitis sufferer can try these gentle exercises; low impact aerobics, walking, Yoga and Tai Chi.

Q: How is Cystemme different to any other product on the market?

A: Phyo Nova Cystemme is the first product on the market that combines three key ingredients; Warburia, Fennel seed and Cranberry. These natural ingredients have scientifically proven pain relieving, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic activities.

Q: Can children take Cystemme?

A: It is recommended that any child suffering from cystitis should see a doctor or other registered healthcare practitioner for treatment. However, if Cystemme is approved by a medical practitioner as a suitable natural therapy for your child, a dose of one capsule, two to three times daily may be appropriate.

Q: Can I use Cystemme for Interstitial cystitis?

A: Interstitial cystitis is a very painful and often chronic condition. It has the same symptoms as acute bacterial cystitis, but is not due to an infection, so antibiotics will not help. Cystemme may help to relieve the symptoms of interstitial cystitis. The natural ingredients are anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antispasmodic and will thus decrease the pain, burning, urgency and frequency of urination. Although it will not treat the cause of interstitial cystitis (which is often difficult as it may be an autoimmune condition), it will provide great relief from the persistent symptoms.
