Phyto Nova Warburgia


Warburgia salutaris is an indigenous South African plant which has antibacterial, anti-candida and analgesic properties. The bark and leaves have been used to treat yeast, fungal and bacterial infections for centuries. More recent clinical studies prove Warburgia to be an effective remedy for the treatment and symptomatic relief of acute bacterial cystitis.

Published in-vitro studies on extracts and isolated pure compounds from Warburgia have shown inhibitory activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including against E. coli, the most common pathogen responsible for acute bacterial cystitis.

In 2004 a small independent observational study, conducted by Dr Antonio Bianchi, in Italy, showed that treatment with Warburgia, for confirmed acute bacterial cystitis, resulted in a very rapid reduction in the burning and pain reported by patients, a steady decline in the frequency of passing urine, as well as the reduction of positive urine cultures for pathogenic bacteria.
