Warburgia

Q: Can Phyto Nova Warburgia be used with antibiotics for the treatment of cystitis?

A: Yes, Warburgia may be used alone to treat and relieve the symptoms of simple, acute bacterial cystitis, but it can also be used in conjunction with antibiotics. You should also drink plenty of fluids, such as water, to help flush the bacteria out of the bladder.

Q: Is it safe to take the African Ginger, Warburgia and Phyto Nova Natural Cough & Cold Syrup all at the same time?

A: Yes, taking all three products together is absolutely fine.

Q: Can Phyto Nova Warburgia be used with citro-soda for the treatment of cystitis?

A: Yes, citro-soda will not hamper the effectiveness of Warburgia as an antibacterial. However, Warburgia may be used alone to relieve the symptoms of cystitis (dysuria, urgency and frequency), which it will relieve very rapidly.

Q: Does Phyto Nova Warburgia only treat the symptoms of cystitis?

A: Warburgia acts as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, mild diuretic, and as an antibacterial. It is these actions that relieve the symptoms and irritation of the bladder, as well as treating the infection. Published in-vitro studies on extracts and isolated pure compounds from Warburgia have shown inhibitory activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including against E. coli, the most common pathogen responsible for acute bacterial cystitis.

Q: Can Phyto Nova Warburgia be used repeatedly for recurrent or relapsing cystitis?

A: Yes, Warburgia may be used as often as needed, provided there are no contra-indications present for its extended use. However, please consult your healthcare professional immediately if your cystitis symptoms persist or recur, as there may be another underlying condition present, or an alternative therapy/ medication may be required.

Q: Can Phyto Nova Warburgia be taken when pregnant or breastfeeding?

A: No, Warburgia should not be taken when pregnant or breastfeeding.

Q: Can Phyto Nova Warburgia be taken at the same time as Warfarin?

A: The effect of Warburgia on warfarin, other anti-coagulants, and bleeding time has not been fully assessed. Do not take Warburgia when on warfarin, as it may increase the bleeding risk. Please discuss and consult with your doctor or registered healthcare professional before taking Warburgia with warfarin, as they must monitor your therapy and bleeding times.

Do not take Warburgia for two weeks prior to elective surgery; it may increase the risk of excessive bleeding.

Q: Does Phyto Nova Warburgia assist to clean toxins and waste products from the kidneys?

A: Warburgia is a mild diuretic, so it will help the kidneys to produce more urine, essentially flushing out any products that should be excreted. It is recommended that you take the Warburgia with a glass of water, and drink plenty of fluids during the day, to aid the diuretic effect, and to replace the fluid lost.
